Memorial Day Parade Sunday 5/27
On Sunday, May 27th, Rocky Hill will celebrate Memorial Day as we remember all Americans who have sacrificed their lives in order to protect this great country we all share. As part of our local celebration, Rocky Hill has a Memorial Day Parade and all Rocky Hill Little League players and coaches are invited to participate and march in the parade. The parade begins at 2pm on Sunday @ Rocky Hill High School. We ask that all players and coaches who are marching arrive at the High School by 1:15pm to meet your teams and get organized for the parade. All teams are required to have an adult representative, Manager, Assistant Coach or parent walking along the route with they players.
We ask that all players wear their team jersey and sneakers (no cleats) or other comfortable footwear for marching.
The parade will end ~3pm at the Town Green between CVS and the old Ames corporate offices at the intersection of Main St/Dividend Rd/Silas Dean Hwy. There will be a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Town Green at the conclusion of the parade. Parents, please plan to meet your team at this location to pick up your children at the end of the event.
Please see the following link for more detail and a map of the parade route.
We would like to inform you of a new baseball bat rule being imposed in 2018. Please note that this new rule is not a Rocky Hill Little League rule, but rather a rule coming directly from USA Baseball. As we are members of Little League Baseball, we must adhere to the new bat rules effective 1/1/18.
The new rule covers the 5 major national leagues; Little League, Cal Ripken, Pony League, Dixie League, Babe Ruth and AABC leagues. This new rule mandates that only bats carrying the USA Baseball logo may be used – rendering all existing bats illegal for use. The new rules cover all baseball age groups from T-Ball up through Majors.
The main drive behind the rule is safety. All bats are now similar to BBCOR style bats which lessens the exit velocity off the bat, making the game SAFER. All of the major bat manufacturers have the new bats ready for sale at a wide range of sizes and pricing. RHLL will have bats available for teams to use, at all levels for use in 2018.
Below, we have attached a couple links that provide more information for you. If you have any questions, please contact me directly.

Love baseball? Looking for an exciting way to become involved in youth sports? Don't have the time to commit to coaching a team? Umpiring may just be the perfect way to volunteer for Rocky Hill Little League. Every Majors and Minors game requires two umpires so there are plenty of opportunities to call a game. The typical time commitment for an umpire is 30 minutes prior to the game time until approximately 10 minutes after game time. (average game time is two hours.) No experience necessary. Junior Umpires are also needed.
Clinic Dates (We would like participation at BOTH)
Thursday April 5th 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Rocky Hill Community Center
Sunday April 15th 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. DiMauro Field (Elm Ridge Park)
30 minutes Prior to Game time: Meet Partner/Dress/Discuss Signals, Coverages and Ground Rules.
10 minutes prior to game time: Arrive at game site, check equipment.
5 minutes prior to game time: Pre-game meeting and pledges. After the game it is recommended that you and your partner discuss pros and cons of the game.
The following guide is not an official rule book but can be used as instruction for Little League Umpires. At no time should this manual be used as a reference for rules in place of the Official Regulations and Playing Rules of either the Rocky Hill Little League or Little League Baseball. The official rule books will be made available at clinics offered by the League and the District.
